World Wildlife Fund website wins award

The Dutch World Wildlife Fund website has been awarded the Usability Award 2008.

'Usability' means that the website is easy to navigate by the user. Information can be found easily and without instruction. Clear commnication and design is therefore necessary for good usability. The Usability Award recognises websites tha. For the first time, this year the public were allowed to decide the final winner. Both the public and professional jury were enthusiastic about the WWF site. The clear main menu made it easy to navigate through the site . Other recommendations were:

- Clear main menu
- Clear structure
- Good 'call-to-action'
- Comprehensive animal library

The second and third prizes were awarded to the websites of Albert Heijn supermarket and Meander Medical Centre. While there is no prize money, the winner is allowed to call themselves 'Usability Award' winner for one year.
