Dutch designers take home three accolades from the annual Wallpaper magazine awards.

In their annual awards, Wallpaper (a magazine covering design, interiors, fashion, art and lifestyle) marked out three Dutch designers for distinction. Here's who they chose and what they said:

Best collection: 'Work' by Dick van Hoff for Royal Tichelaar Makkum
'Work' combines beautiful ceramics with a functional oak structure. If Tichelaar can make work look this sexy, the mind boggles as to what it can do with playtime."

Furniture Designer of the Year, runner-up: Marcel Wanders
"His giant lamps and bells which were part of the Wanders Wonders collection, caused a storm at the Milan Salone, while his 'Skygarden' lamp for Flos was equally splendid".

Most life-enhancing item, runner-up: Emotional Robots by Utrecht University
"The researchers thought that emotions might make robots more efficient. We are hoping this points to a subservient technology that knows when it's best to stay out of the way." Images: 'Work' by Dick van Hoff
