The ThinkTank is a Group of nine European thinkers, scientists and writers on the applied arts and design. They meet every year in September to discuss a range of subjects.

They now they also have a website that provides information about their activities. The aim of the ThinkTank is to stimulate inter-disciplinary debate in the academic world. As part of this, they regularly publish articles on the applied arts and design. The members of the ThinkTank are: Peter Assmann (Austria), Liesbeth den Besten (Netherlands), Gabi Dewald (Germany), Mònica Gaspar (Switzerland/Spain), Tanya Harrod (Great Britain), Love Jönsson (Sweden), Louise Mazanti (Denmark), Jorunn Veiteberg (Norway/Denmark) and Edmund De Waal (Great Britain).

The ThinkTank’s new website offers information on symposia, lectures and discussions. The ThinkTank’s new publication, 'Think Tank Edition 03, Place(s)', a booklet of 95 pages, is also now available (price 12 euro + mailing costs, ISBN 3-950290-1-8). More information about the publications can be found on the site.

A ThinkTank exhibition can be seen at the Galerie in Halle until 20 May. The next symposium, and the 'Gift' exhibition, will be held in Gmunden (Austria) from 13 to 16 2007.
