SMALL TALK: This week, 43 Dutch design agencies are announced as finalists in the European Design Awards and Bouwe van der Molen is awarded a Titan International Illustration in Design Award.

Titan Illustration in Design Award

Amsterdam-based graphic designer Bouwe van der Molen has been awarded a Titan International Illustration in Design Award 2009 for the poster "La Grande Boucherie" (pictured). Out of 1039 entries from 79 countries the jury (consisting of Paula Sher, Andrew Howard, Adrian Shaughnessy, Heitor Alvelos, Jessica Helfand and Pep Montserrat) awarded six first prize winners and an overall winner. The awards took place recently in Matosinhos, Portugal.

European Design Awards finalists

This year's shortlisted finalists for the European Design Awards features 43 Dutch design agencies. Consisting of 32 categories, the awards are a collaboration between 14 European design magazine. Winners will be announced on 30 May 2010 in Rotterdam at the three-day 2010 European Design Festival. Dutch finalists include:
