Set to make quite an impact, the new international design label SKITSCH will be launched in Milan offering products laden with stories and emotion.

A new Italian-based international design label SKITSCH will be launched during Milan Furniture Week. The label will offer design objects, furniture and accessories for the interior and outdoors.

The first SKITSCH collection will offer more than 50 new design projects created by 24 international and emerging designers. Among those are Dutch designers Maarten Baas, Bertjan Pot, Minale-Maeda, Joost Van Bleiswijk, Kiki Van Eijk, Niels Van Eijk and Miriam Van der Lubbe.

Not only will the label and collection be launched that week, but SKITSCH will also debut their first flagship store: 600 square metres and 13 windows in the heart of Milan, on Via Monte di Pietà 11 (on the corner of Via Fratelli Gabba).

Elspeth Diederix, the renowned Amsterdam-based photographer and visual artist, will shoot the advertising campaign for the launch.

Some of the new products include:

Haphazard Harmony by Maarten Baas
A full range of tableware, in porcelain, based on intuitive little sketches. The master model of every single plate, every cup, every saucer is shaped by hand, in foam, after which moulds are made for the porcelain pieces. Baas makes pieces in which the personality and spontaneity of the maker can still be seen and felt.

Table tales by Kiki van Eijk
A tactile collection for the table using ceramics as a basic material, ornamented with micro reliefs referring to table settings and tableware of the past.

Mirrored series by Joost van Bleiswijk
A range of furniture to honour and emphasize the beautiful and classical technique of mirrored furniture.

Dazzle Chair by Bertjan Pot
More an optical illusion than a bedazzling piece, the chair plays with
with two- and three-dimensional effects.

Soft Wood by Minale-Maeda
The bench and mirror with console seem made of wood. Upon closer inspection, the products are actually soft. Lightly padded and completely covered in fabric with a wood grain print, they are an ironic, contemporary version of the trompe l’oeil style.
