Public asked to help design railway station toilets
In 2008, Leiden station will be converted into a test station for the Dutch Railway (NS) and ProRail. The NS is holding a competition for the public to help design the station toilet areas of the future.
In 2008, Leiden station will be converted into a test station for the Dutch Railway (NS) and ProRail. The NS is holding a competition for the public to help design the station toilet areas of the future.
There are two parts to the competition:
A. Design a logo for the toilet area, using the word WelCome, and the associated signage (pictograms).
B. Make a design on adhesive film for the glass back and side walls of the various toilet areas.
Entry is open to everybody, all relevant information can be found on the special website, which also features a 3D film explaining the contest. In addition to the winning designs being realised at the Leiden Centraal test station, the winner of each part of the contest will receive a prize of €5000. Designs can be submitted online until 22 February 2008 and winners will be announced on 10 March 2008.
