'Design lounge' at Schiphol airport

Following on from an international competition, Privium-Schiphol has chosen M+R interior architects from Eindhoven to design a lounge at Schiphol airport.

Following on from an international competition, Privium-Schiphol has chosen M+R interior architects from Eindhoven to design a lounge at Schiphol airport.

The members-only lounge will be open from October 2008. The entry will be in the form of a eyeball, which opens as the passenger enters. The lounge will be 600 square meters in size and the main colour will be in off-white- intended to give a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.

Interior architecture
Design bureau M+R has based the design on organic forms and materials. The ceiling and walls will make use of LED-techniques which will change to create different moods. The elements water, fire, light and air form an integral part of the design.
