In addition to its fixed collection and established designers, Masimo has extended its new collection of furniture. The “navvy” collection brings together the first designs for the new Dutch furniture brand, designed by Roderick Vos and Anton de Groof.
The new collection features:
Dining room chair “Air 65”, designed by Anton de Groof
“All the chairs have been made already, but there must be something that gives you the feeling that it’s not yet there,” says Anton de Groof, a designer at Masimo who is also the initiator of the project. The designer approached this chair using the concept upon which the whole collection is based. No fuss, but a clear visual language without any form of decoration.
Dining room table “Wing”, designed by Anton de Groof
Touch but soft, heavy but airy. Steel in its pure, cool form, intended only to be constructive, combined with solid oak, which gives a warm feeling. Groof says "Not one bolt too many has been used to bring this robust table into being. We did not use anything that would have distracted from purity.”
Table series “Comic”, designed by Marico Mulders
The “Comic” table series is built up of black-coated steel combined with radiated oak. Love of wood as a basic material is brought to the fore by combining the steel frame with oak. Marico Mulders about Comic: “I am always looking for relationships of proportion and material, and that balance is the basis of this table series. It is a very simple and balanced design, fitting seamlessly with the Masimo concept: timelessness with no decoration. That is also what I want to achieve in my designs.”
