A number of Dutch designers were among the winners at the International European Design Awards (ED Awards) held last Friday in Athens.

A number of Dutch designers were among the winners at the International European Design Awards (ED Awards) held last Friday in Athens.

The ED Awards were awarded this year for the first time. The prizes are an initiative of twelve European design magazines: 2+3D (Poland), CAP & Design (Sweden), +design (Greece, Etapes (France), Eye (GB), idPure (Switzerland), Items (Netherlands), KAK (Russia), Novum (Germany) Typo (Czech Republic) and Visual (Spain). The jury consisted of representatives of each of the magazines.

In total there were 83 finalists from 17 countries. Awards and merit notices in 26 categories were awarded at the ceremony in Athens. The second edition of the ED Awards will take place in Stockholm next year.
