Design agency BR-ND Mountain Design picked up a European Futurepack for their Award Crown paint cans.

Futurepack is a European platform for companies involved in the packaging sector. The annual Futurepack Awards has been set up to recognise innovative printed packaging.

This year's jury consisted of: Rob Vermeulen of the Pan European Brand Design Association (PDA), Professor Matthias Franz of the Hochschule der Medien (School of Media), Stuttgart, Joachim Soditt of Nestle Deutschland AG, Josef Sutter of Michael Huber München GmbH, Rainer Herbst of MHM Holding GmbH.

The chief evaluation criteria for the prize were:
• Print quality and design
• Form and functionality
• Fitness for purpose
• Protection and presentation of the contents

1st Prize: DVD packaging made of board with silver foil embossing by United Planet, Freiburg, Germany
2nd Prize: Innovative egg packaging by CVG Eierverpackungen GmbH & Co. KG, Fintel, Germany

3rd Prize: Wall paint cans by Mountain Design, The Hague, Netherlands. "The unparalleled print quality for tin cans combined with matt-finish effects were the criteria that clinched the jury's vote for this product."
