Liquid Space
Space that moves when you move? The future isn't as far away as we think with Studio Roosegaarde's Liquid Space 6.0, currently on exhibition in Yamaguchi, Japan.
The future of architecture
Studio Roosegaarde presented its latest artwork 'Liquid Space 6.0' commissioned by Museum Yamaguchi Centre for Arts and Media (YCAM) in Yamaguchi, Japan. 'Liquid Space 6.0' is an interactive space of 4 x 4 x 3 meter which becomes bigger, smaller and brighter in relation to human behaviour. This interactive fusion of mechanisms, embedded electronics, sound and LEDs creates a real-time dialogue with its visitors. In the play of defining and letting go, Liquid Space 6.0 evolves its behaviour towards visitors, creating a sensual co-existence.
'Liquid Space 6.0' will be exhibited at Museum YCAM, Minimum Interface, from 1 November 2008 until 8 February 2009. Earlier this year, we reported on Studio Roosegaarde, specialists in interactive landscapes, with their development of the Sustainable Dance Floor in Rotterdam.
