How to spot a Dutch designer in London

To help you navigate through the London Design Festival which starts on 13 September, we’ve compiled a who’s who list of Dutch designers who will be in London and where you can catch them.

Dutch flowers and pop-ups take over London.

The London Design Festival (LDF) kicks off on 13 September 2008, with Dutch designers being a big part of the action. To help you navigate through the festival, we’ve compiled a who’s who list of Dutch designers who will be in London and where you can catch them:

100% Design
100% Design is an interiors and design event for the contract market held at Earls Court. Dutch exhibitors include Annette V. Huizing, DECAF, Frame The Great Indoors, Freedom of Creation, I C E, KFF Design, Marike Europe BV, OBJEKT©International, Royal Mosa, Sander Bokkinga, STUDIO LAWRENCE, U+, Van Besouw Tapijt BV.
18 until 21 September

Rabih Hage
Piet Hein Eek pop up shop and exhibition of Piet’s original drawings Rabih Hage gallery.
18 September until 31 October

‘Forget me not’
Design shop Mint will present 'Roots', a sensory concept by Marije Vogelzang, founder of Proef food-design laboratory. New works from Joost van Bleiswijk and Kiki van Eijk will also be shown.
18 until 30 September

Double Dutch
Organised by the Flower Council of Holland this guerilla installation explores how flowers bring emotion to interior design. In continuation of their collaboration with the Flower Council of Holland, Niels van Eijk and Miriam van der Lubbe will create five ‘Bouquets of Emotions’. This floral feast will be situated in the Brompton Design District at 29 Thurloe Place, South Kensington.
15 until 19 September

MATERIALISM
Featuring the work of Pieke Bergmans, this exhibition at Gallery Fumi focuses on works by emerging designers who adopt innovative and refreshing ways of working with materials.

Designersblock pop-up shop
Selfridges department store, Oxford Street. Joana Meroz will present her Metal Lace Drains.

The making of Functional Design
Design lecture by Piet Boon at Focus/08 organized by RIBA in association with Wallpaper*
23 September, 11h

Foundry
Foundry will convert an industrial warehouse in Clerkenwell into their first ever pop-up design shop and exhibition. The curated show and retail space will include new products from Moooi not previously seen in the UK.
17 until 23 September

Beau Savage
Pop-up gallery by Gallery Libby Sellers at Liberty’s department store. The event includes works from Simon Heijdens.
19 September until 19 October

Under the Same Roof
The Aram Gallery presents the first exhibition of the OKAY Studio, a London-based design collective of 9 ex-RCA graduates including Jorre van Ast.
18 September until 08 November

Bombay Sapphire Design Glass Competition
Winner of the Dutch competition Catiana Antonio will compete with 20 other international emerging designers for the main prize of £10 000. All entries will be exhibited at Village Underground.
18 until 21 September
