Among the six finalists from Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands was the 23-year old Anne Bosman from ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem.

The recent Dutch graduate was chosen by an esteemed group of judges including head of the jury and head of design H&M Ann-Sofie Johansson, fashion illustrator Piet Paris, head of fashion at ELLE magazine Esther Coppoolse, Milou van Rossum fashion journalist and Elke Kieft pr-manager H&M Holland.

Fourteen of the most prominent Design Schools in Europe participated in this new competition to find fresh, young design talent. From the Netherlands, it was ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem and the Amsterdam Fashion Institute which produced some five finalists: Tom Nijhuis (ArtEZ), Anne Bosman (ArtEZ),  Lynn Langeveld (AMFI), Mattia Akkermans (ArtEZ) and Bram van Diepen (AMFI).

Saying the collection was “playful, innovative and a strong bold statement”, Ann-Sofie Johansson presented Anne Bosman with a cheque for €5.000 and a place in the finals.

UK-winner Stine Riis will receive a cash prize of €50.000 plus the chance to show her collection during Stockholm Fashion Week.

The prize for the People’s Design Award has gone to Anne Bosman who gets a one-month internship at fashion designer Cristopher Kane’s studio in London.
