On 11 June 2008, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands will open the new Graphic Design Museum in Breda. The museum is the first in the world to focus solely on graphic design.

On 11 June 2008, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands will open the new Graphic Design Museum in Breda. The museum is the first in the world to focus solely on graphic design.

The museum will include, knowledge and education centre, designer cafe and shop. The aim is to offer an international podium for established designers as well as a springboard for new talent. Regular exhibitions, lectures and workshops will be held.

Live opening
The official opening can be watched live via the museum's website from 1800-2000.

Party
To celebrate the opening a large party will be held in the Valkenberg park in Breda, with VJ Micha Klein and DJ Isis. Large screens will show live footage of the opening plus images of work from the museum's collection. The party starts at 1800.

Graphic Atelier
A number of workshops and other activities have also been planned for the park including a fashion show, large-scale template making, and a collaborative 'digital portrait'. Festivities begin at 1300 and continue until 2000.
