With four weeks to go before GDFB2012 starts we are happy to announce that the program has been finalized. With a mix of exhibitions, lectures, workshops, urban interventions and parties it’s about time to get excited about the 5 coming festival days.

We’re all part of a visual culture, a society that increasingly communicates via images.

Theexhibition shows how image-makers create and share visual stories from various perspectives. Nowadays an image-maker can act as a poet, journalist, scientist and agitator. Their compact visual stories provide us a wide perspective of the world we live in.

As a director of a process, a designer can influence both the form of a message and the experience at of the transmitter and receiver. ShareYourCopy presents three interactive installations that allow visitors to visualize and share a personalized message in an original way.

Letterproeftuin
This graphic playground forces designers to leave their computer screens behind and get their hands dirty. The traveling letterpress workshop is a place where craft is mixed with contemporary technique. FiZZZ BZZZZ! (FR), Jordy van den Nieuwendijk (NL) and Nathan Cowen (USA) are invited to come and work in Letterproeftuin prior to the opening of GDFB. Throughout the festival the designers will also be hard at work in the workshop, giving the public an opportunity to see how it works.
