Four Hour Design Prize
Less time-consuming and more painless
Normally, the process of design competitions can be extremely tedious. After registrations close, there's waiting until all entries have been reviewed and finalists are shortlisted and then after that, more waiting until the winner is announced. With the Utregse Diezijnprijs organised by BNO, things happen a little differently: everything is done and dusted in four hours, in public.
On 25 September in the Dutch Design Centre, Utrecht, Dutch designers from all design disciplines will submit their projects at 18:00. While they're waiting for the jurors to review and decide, there's nibbles and drinks, a design quiz and the official book launch of the new book 'My Dutch Design' designed by Dick Bruna (creator of Miffy/Nijntje) and de Designpolitie published by BIS publishers in cooperation with BNO. At 22:00 the winner will be announced. Sounds too painless to be true! Good luck to all participants and we'll let you know the results next week.
