Fabrique Communicatie and Design has developed the online concept for a new Heineken campaign.
Fabrique developed a new concept for the campaign site covering this season of the UEFA Champions League. The site's brief was to appeal to football fans, to be internationally accessible, and to effectively profile Heineken's sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League. It was also required to make effective use of this year's theme, 'watch the stars under the stars'. The result is a game in which participants have to 'kick' a ball as fast as possible from Iceland (where the winners watched last year's final) to South Africa. The website was developed in five languages to make it accessible around the world.
Visually, the Star Final site is a combination of Heineken green with the UEFA Champions League visual identity. The site has been especially developed to provide an interactive experience for players of the game. Participants are drawn into the Heineken Star Final by means of videos, 3D animations and personalised information. The 'star player', a football player represented in stars, kicks the player's ball through the earth's atmosphere in the direction of South Africa.
The competition, which started on 3 March, ends on 16 April 2008.
