Eindhoven is working on the European ADMIRE project with seventeen European partners. The project intends to inform companies, especially small and medium businesses, of the importance of good design management.

Design Connection Eindhoven region will develop and coordinate the ADMIRE project, at the request of the Eindhoven council. ADMIRE stands for Award for Design Management Innovating and Reinforcing Enterprises. The prize honours European entrepreneurs who have successfully integrated their business operations. The project aims to stimulate European entrepreneurs to use design as a motor for innovation and product development. The first award will be launched this week.

One element of ADMIRE is the European Design Years, a programme intended to promote design and offer support to the organization of exhibitions, conferences and workshops.
The programme begins in Eindhoven this year, and will be organised by different partner cities in the following years.

The plans will be announced on 7 June 2007 at the international design management conference in Eindhoven. The first Design Management Awards will be held on 22 November 2007 in Essen.
