More than twenty design events held in two Dutch cities spread over two months. Dutch Design Double celebrates Dutch design from 1 September until the 31 October 2010.

Under the umbrella Dutch Design Double, Amsterdam and Utrecht play host throughout the whole month of September and October to a series of internationally-orientated design events.

Both cities are joining forces to create a handpicked selection of design and new media projects. As 2010 has been proclaimed as international Rietveld Year, Dutch Design Double brings attention to the Utrecht architect and designer Gerrit Th. Rietveld (1888-1964) whose work has been of great importance to the development of architects and designers.

Events include Saved by Droog at Centraal Museum Utrecht, DARE # 5: Doing Dissemination, Hema design competition, Groene Honden, Mapping for Tourists, Woonbeurs, Rietveld's Universe, the lecture 'How is Modernism in Russia Currently Being Regarded by Architects and Designers?' held at the Hermitage Amsterdam. Dutch Design Double is an initiative of Gemeente Utrecht, Provincie Utrecht and Premsela, Dutch Platform for Design and Fashion. Cultuurfabriek produces Dutch Design Double in association with Gemeente Amsterdam and Ministerie van Economische Zaken.
