The finalists in this 8th edition of the Dutch Design Awards have been selected from more than 700 projects by committees comprised of experts in the design field.

The winners – competing for a total of 17 Awards in the main categories of Communication, Product, and Spatial – will be chosen by an international jury led by Frans Timmermans (chairman, Netherlands) comprising of Sam Hecht (USA, industrial design), Ruedi Baur (France, graphic design), Marcus Fairs (UK, communications), Ravi Naidoo (South Africa, communications), James Woodhuyzen (UK, industrial design), Will Erens (Belgium, interior design) Rajesh Kejriwal (India, communications and product design), Timo de Rijk (chairman selection committee Product), Hans van der Markt (chairman selection committee Spatial) and Vincent van Baar (chairman selection committee Communication). Winning entries will be announced during the festive Award Show during Dutch Design Week on 23 October 2010 at the Muziekgebouw Frits Philips in Eindhoven, together with the winners of Awards in the following special categories: The Golden Eye (most successful design of 2010), the Rado Young Designer Award (incentive award for young talent), the Best Client Award, the Public Award of the DDA and the BNO – Piet Zwart Prize – Life Time Achievement Award of the DDA. The designs of all finalists and winners will subsequently be exhibited in the Brainport Greenhouse on the Stadhuisplein in Eindhoven during the Dutch Design Week.
