Don't Believe the Type 2010
On 5 November, 2010, the third edition of the typography festival Don't Believe the Type will take place in the Hague.
Initiated by design studio Trapped in Suburbia, the festival is aimed at those with an interest in typography and will include workshops and lectures by some of the biggest names in the field, as well as an exhibition featuring work by over thirty designers from around the world.
This year's festival boasts Dutch and international talent from Berlin, London and San Francisco who will demonstrate their skills, teach and hopefully inspire some of the visitors to Don't Believe the Type. Included in the line-up is a sign painting workshop with San Francisco-based artist Jeff Canham, a workshop in 3D typographic installation by Sean Freeman and a 2-day workshop with the graphic designer from Berlin, Eike König a.k.a. Hort.
For those who prefer a less hands-on approach, lectures will be given by the three international designers. Another part of the festival is the typography exhibition featuring work from internationally acclaimed designers such as the Dutch HOAX and Leon Dijkstra, Brazillian Yomar Augusto and British Craig Ward.
