Design house
Het Designhuis (The Design House) in Eindhoven is a platform that aims to bring design, art and technology together in an inspiring manner. It will include exhibitions, lectures and other events design will be for sale in the gift shop. The aim is to simulate interaction between the disciplines, as well as to strengthen international networks and the exchange of knowledge. Het Designhuis is an initiative of Li Edelkoort.
Bold is a retrospective of the work of Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel, now world-famous designers. The exhibition is a co-production with Z33 from Belgium. It is a selection of forty works that are iconic, symbolic, playful and smart. Work by Yksi (Top End Low End) can also be viewed, in addition to the exhibition of Studio Job. Yksi has approached eight designers/design studios to take part. Studio Job/Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel will open and close the series, with the works of other participating designers included, among them Richard Hutten, Piet Hein Eek, Yksi Ontwerpers/ Leonne Cuppen, Kees Heurkens and Eduard Sweep, Miriam van der Lubbe and Niels van Eijk, Maarten Baas, Hella Jongerius and Wieki Somers. During the Dutch Design Week Het Designhuis will be opened at special times. After that it will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11.00 to 18.00. Admission is 5 Euro.
