The Cut&Paste Digital Design Tournament is a live design competition where contestants have to battle their design skills on stage in front of a audience.

There are three categories: 2D, 3D, and Motion Graphics and designers have 15 minutes in the spotlight to fulfil a brief. The whole event will  be streamed live.

This year, the competition will expand into 16 international cities including London, Los Angeles, Berlijn, Barcelona, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, New York and Sydney. There will be three winners from each city, 48 winners in total who will come together in New York on 20 June 2009 for the international final.

Amsterdam's turn will come on 2 April where 16 up-and coming designers have been selected and will be competing at the event held in the Paradiso.

Judges include Dylan Griffith (creative director MTV Europe), Andrew Watson (creative Director of international communications agency Amsterdam Worldwide), Rob Huisman (director Association of Dutch Design (BNO), Bas van Abel (creative director Waag Society) and other design industry figures. The night will be hosted by La Melodia and DJ’s Full Crate&FS Green and Innavision. For information about tickets, please visit the Paradiso website or Cut&Paste.
