'Conversation Pieces for the Interior' are contemporary, decorated pieces of furniture, designed by Scholten & Baijings and made by master craftsmen. The collection is made in collaboration with the Zuiderzee Museum.

The typically Dutch collection comprises five items of furniture that constitute a contemporary interpretation of five masterpieces from the Zuiderzee Museum’s collection: Marker kast (Marken cabinet), hangoortafel (drop-leaf table), Flap-aan-de-wand (tilt-top table), Butte (wooden travel case) and knopstoel (pegged chair).

The visual images have been applied to the objects using different decorative techniques. The ornamentations reflect the daily lives of the designers of these pieces and range from interiors, objects and landscapes to portraits, animals, flowers and fruit.

This collection continues the work of Scholten & Baijings that combines contemporary design with traditional crafts, such as screen printing, willow braiding, glass-blowing, weaving, embroidering, photo etching and lithography.
