Dutch galleries at Collect 2008
Collect is the only art fair exclusively for contemporary objects in Europe. Presented by the Crafts Council and located at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Collect brings together 42 galleries from around the globe, showcasing the very best in decorative and applied arts. This year, six galleries from the Netherlands will be showcasing jewellery from Dutch designers and artists.
Over 350 leading artists are represented, covering ceramics, glass, jewellery, silver and fine metalwork, textiles, wood and furniture. Attracting collectors, curators and enthusiasts, Collect is seen as a landmark destination for anyone interested in seeing and buying contemporary art objects.

Contemporary Art Gallery
Lilly Zeligman bases the gallery’s exhibition policy on the careful selection of artists whose work displays a ‘sense of reality’, either magical-realist or surrealistic. This accounts primarily for the two-dimensional media of painting and photography. The gallery also exhibits contemporary jewellery and small-scale sculptures in glass, stone, bronze or ceramics.
Galerie Louise Smit
Galerie Louise Smit specialises in contemporary studio jewellery. The all-encompassing nature of the gallery shows the latest developments of the national and international avant-garde.
Galerie Marzee
Galerie Marzee was founded in 1978 and is the world’s largest gallery for modern jewellery. It holds both temporary exhibitions and a permanent collection.
Galerie Ra
Galerie Ra has been focusing on promoting jewellery as an art form since 1976. Originality, quality and continuity are the starting-points for the gallery’s exhibition programme, in which work from around 50 international artists is represented. Eight exhibitions a year are organised, chiefly solo displays, or sometimes a theme or group show with an accompanying catalogue.
Galerie Rob Koudijs
Gallerie Rob Koudijs sprang from more than 25 years commitment to contemporary art-jewellery. The gallery presents established artists and emerging new talents with regular exhibitions. It shows sometimes autonomous works of art, mostly wearable pieces and in any case surprising, innovative jewellery of the highest standard.
Gallery Terra Delft
Gallery Terra Delft, founded in 1986, is a gallery for contemporary ceramics. In addition to exhibitions featuring both Dutch and foreign ceramicists, the gallery also serves as a permanent sales point.
