The Centraal Museum in Utrecht opened a design shop this week. The stock consists mostly of work by successful contemporary Dutch designers. The new shop is housed next to the museum shop in the Dick Bruna house in Utrecht, opposite the main building of the Centraal Museum. The stock consists of work by Dutch designers such as Tord Boontje, Ineke Hans, Richard Hutten and Tromp&Bronsen. Droog Design is also on show, with a series of lamps, as well as Marcel Wanders’ bird house and the Dalad Sunrise by Arnout Visser.

The opening of the design shop is one of the special activities organised in connection with the first anniversary of the Dick Bruna house. The house is home to a permanent exhibition of Dick Bruna’s work in book covers, posters and more.

The new design shop will be open from 10.00 on Saturday. Following the opening, it will be open every day between 10.00 and 17.00, except Monday. The shop will have special offers and discounts during the opening weeks. Visitors who purchase an item by Droog Design will get a free catalogue until 4 March.
