The first Design to Business (D2B) Award has been won by Arnhem designer Sharon Geschiere for her toy for pigs.

The first Design to Business (D2B) Award has been won by Arnhem designer Sharon Geschiere for her toy for pigs.

Pig welfare
Working with LTO Nederland and the Dierenbescherming (Animal welfare group), Geschiere developed the 'Wroezelaar', a play object for pigs. The toy improves the lives of stalled pigs. Geschiere and the clients received a special trophy desinged by Sander van der Haar.

Public prize
The public were able to choose the winner of the Public Prize via the website of the newspaper De Gelderlander. The winner was a fence designed by Ruud-Jan Kokke for the borough of Oud-Zuid in Amsterdam.

Design to Business Award
The D2B Award is specifically aimed at designers from Arnhem or the province of Gelderland who work with their clients to develop trend-setting new designs on the basis of a shared vision. OPA intends the D2B Award to stimulate closer and more creative ways of working between designers and their clients. Its aim is also to interest a wide public in the work of designers and their clients from the region.
