The city becomes, for a whole month, the platform for meetings with belgian and international designers such as: Michele de Lucchi, Tom Dixon, BarberOsgerby, Ron Arad, Patrick Jouin, David Trubridge, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Maarten Baas, Karim Rashid and Ora Ito.

For its sixth anniversary the festival will put forward the different applications of design and the multidisciplinary interactions between different design applications such as furniture design, product design, urban design, architecture, prototypes, strategic design, jewelry creation, illustration, food design,….and particlurarly this year graphic and textile design. Other specificity, young creators take part in this 2012 edition. A great diversity of qualitative events, proposed by a lot of associations and independent organizations, enrich the cultural side of Design September; exhibitions, lectures, Brussels Design Market, Pecha Kucha, Designers opendoors,…

During the whole month the emblematic design shops, pop-up stores and flagship stores will have a special setting about one trademark, or a designer and his new products. Limited editions, prototypes and luxurious products will be part of the landscape of Design September 2012.
 
Special 2012

A meeting platform (D-Platform)
A meeting patform for discussions will take place un TAG city, and is organized by KNUT. This platform will propose a rich and various program : discussions, meetings, exhibitions, projections, workshops,…A place to discuss the events of the festival, design while drinking something refreshing.
 
Young Belgian Design.
The D-Platform will be in a central place of this festival and surounded by 6 other galleries for the exhibition New Exhibit Design. TAG city, based at Passage Rogier, opens 6 galleries to the creation of young designers. Another exhibition of a collective of young Belgian designers « Homologie » will take place in Espace Wallonie.
 
Walloon, Brussels and even Flemish…
This year the festival will be enriched by Flemish creators « De Invasie » at the exhibition « Colour » at La Fabrika.
 
A great institution with various events.
Civa will host 4 events around design during the festival : exhibitions about architecture, textile and even a discussion about graphic design.
 
Graphic Design.
In 2012, Design September shows a nice number of events around graphic design : open doors, a workshop with TSTO (Finnish) and a verry nice exhibition called « Visual Grammar » by Modern Theory.
