Beauty and the Power Socket

Designed by Joris Laarman, WirePod is a grey power pod that begins with a wall plug and branches out into four curled arms, each ending in a three-prong socket. The pod rolls and unfurls as needed to accommodate different functional requirements. WirePod is the first piece in Artecnica’s Wiremore™ collection, a series of electrical products that transform power chords from concealed objects into visible design objects. As 'Best New Product', the jurors recognised WirePod for 'integrating the shape and form of electric wire into the overall design environment.'
