Amsterdam Public Library exhibits HEMA design
Every year, hundreds of Belgian and Dutch students take up challenge to make a successful design for the HEMA Design Competition. This year, the Dutch chain of department stores organized the competition for the 22nd time.
100 x RIETVELD
Gerrit Thomas Rietveld (1888-1964) is worldfamous for the Rietveld-Schröderhouse and one chair, the red-blue ‘Rietveld’ chair. He designed more than 100 houses and more than 350 pieces of furniture.
HKU - DESIGN ROUTE

NELLI TANNER: COLLECTING SNOW
Since graduating from the Rietveld Academie in 2003, Finnish-born Tanner’s jewellery has been imbued with a narrative character. Her brooches and objects show people in expressive postures.
REDLIGHT DESIGN AMSTERDAM: DELUX GOES INSIDE
In September 2008, the City of Amsterdam, Ymere and Droog Design launched the Redlight Design Amsterdam project. Six international jewellery designers – Frédéric Braham, Jantje Fleischhut, Gésine Hackenberg, Susanne Klemm, Iris Nieuwenburg and Atelier Ted Noten – swapped their homes and workspaces for houses previously used by prostitutes in De Wallen. www.redlightdesignamsterdam.nl
